Juvéderm Q&A

What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is the #1 selling collection of dermal facials fillers in the U.S. These fillers are made from simple sugars called hyaluronic acids. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume, HA's are found in most living things and are essential for the overall function of our bodies. When we are young our skin is filled with an abundance of hyaluronic acid and as we age the sun and other factors decrease the amount of HA in our skin. When Juvéderm is injected into the face the HA supports the structure of the face, temporarily adding volume to tissue and restoring a more full, youthful appearance. Each product in the Juvéderm collection adds volume to a different area of the face - without surgery. All Juvéderm fillers are a smooth, crystal-clear gel that are administered by injection.

Where do you get your Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is made by a company called Allergan, this is the same company that makes Botox cosmetic. We get all of our injectables straight from the manufacturer, in this case, Allergan, Inc.

How long will my Juvéderm injections last?

Juvéderm is the only FDA-approved non-surgical hyaluronic acid filler to plump lips, lift and contour cheeks, smooth panther lines and folds around the nose and mouth that lasts up to 1 year with optimal treatment.

Will my Juvéderm injections hurt?

All Juvederm gels are mixed with lidocaine to significantly prevent discomfort. Although some clients experience mild discomfort and soreness up to a couple of days following treatment, we use ice pacts and in some cases a topical numbing cream to make the experience as painless as possible.

What areas can I treat with Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is commonly used to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth,  lax skin under the eyes,  and for volume loss in the cheeks, chin, lips and jaw line.

How long does it take to see results with Juvéderm?

While a noticeable result is instantaneous more complete results come after about 2 weeks.

What are the side effects of Juvéderm?

Because Juvéderm is a naturally occurring substance found in the body, side effects are mostly due to errors in the procedure and not the gel itself. The more common  side effects are minor and range from itching, redness, sore and tenderness, minor swelling, lumps, bumps and bruising. These usually occur at the injection site.

What happens if I get Juvéderm and am unhappy with my injections?

In the unlikely situation that you are unhappy with your injections there is an enzyme that can be injected to break down the gel.

Do I need downtime for Juvéderm injections?

There is no downtime required after any Juvéderm injections, however we recommend relaxing for 24 hours after treatment in case mild bruising or swelling occurs.

We value the business of each and every one of our clients and ask that you respect our time and cancellation policy.
